Angela and Russell Harper are the creative team behind Harper & Harper jewellery, a new contemporary homemade accessories line out of Bristol UK. Their collection which they describe as “individual and bold in design” has already caught the eye of a member of one of the coolest bands around at the moment, Ana Matronic of the Scissor Sisters.
Ana commissioned the team to design a selection of pieces that she has been wearing in music videos and on world tours. Her enthusiasm for the line was clear.
“I wore the aqua and yellow square bangles in the end performance (of the filthy gorgeous video) they looked great”
The pair who studied art based degrees at university make every single piece of jewellery by hand and in limited editions giving each piece a unique feel.
Their first collection, the deco range was inspired by their passion for art deco. “We combined the clean design line of the 1920’s with modern material. The new designs are very futuristic and inspired by 60’s minimalist shapes, think modern day Barbarella” Angela Harper explains.
Harper & Harper Jewellery is currently sold exclusively in Britain at Pop in Cheltenham but if that is too far to travel their pieces can also be bought on their website. However to the excitement of their growing fan base the designers are looking to expand the Harper range and establish their name in the accessories world.
Their contemporary jewellery line can be described like the type of person it will attract; young, modern, stylish, makes a statement with fashion is not afraid to be bold, unique and different.
