Livingstone skatepark is known to skateboarders the world over. From top US pros such as Tony Hawk to very young beginners, this scottish skatepark is viewed as the UK's no. 1 skateboarding destination. For 20 - odd years, this park has been the mecca of skateboarding,. It's concrete, which is preferable, built in 1980 and extended in 1992. There's something for all levels, and it's free. Bolton's indoor skatepark features a large street course, which includes spines, rails boxes and ramps. Bones is excellenty for skateboarding. It's well built, well set-out and the locals always make you welcome. It's always busy and there's always something for everyone. Not to be missed are the venues excellent competitions. According to most skateboarders, you haven't lived until you've tried out this park in Romford. Built in the late seventies, Rom is one of the few original concrete skateparks in the UK, and like Livi (see no. 1), is a world-renowned spot. You'll never find another park like it. It's part of the heritage of British skateboarding, This first rate facility includes ramps, moguls, a bowl, pool and half pipe. Underneath central London's busy Westway, close to where it crosses Portobello Road, lies the Playstation Skatepark. Because it's housed beneath the motorway it's classed an an indoor skatepark - in fact, the only one in london - but, of course, it benefits from the breeze that blows through the concrete pillars that support the structure. It's a big park that houses the capital's only vert ramp. There's something for everyone here, and beginners can benefit from the sturday morning instruction sessions. Set over 48,000 square feet, this is the biggest indoor skatepark in the UK. The street course was built by Dave Arnold, who is one of the best ramp builders in the country. So there's plenty of space for everyone here to take advantage of the vert ramps, spine ramps, drive ways and jump boxes. Meanwhilegardens - community association have a great skate park near westbourne park station and quite close to Royal Oak Station.It has been around since the seventies but there are three relatively new concrete bowls of varying heights with smooth rollovers. If you thought the cornish north coast was just for surfers, think again. Opened in 1989, the well-respected Mount Hawke is the only indoor skatepark in cornwall. Mount Hawke is one of the most professionally run skateparks in the UK. there's a good street course and perfectly maintained ramps. The staf are friendly and helpful and there's no attitude. What better place to hang out on a sunny afternoon than the Stockwell Bowl. south London's most popular skatepark, tucked behind the Brixton Academy, is of the old generation of good, concrete outdoor facilities that were designed in the 1970s. It's recently been resurfaced with smooth pink concrete and includes a range of bumps and bowls. A perfect place to chill in the summer. This is one of the older, more established indoor skateparks in the UK. It's poition is the centre of England makes it a popular location for skateboarders who travel here from all over the country. It's a well-looked after spot, and all of the money that it makes is ploughed back into maintaining the site and holding some great competitions - some of the best in the UK. Located about 20 minutes drive from the centre of Bristol, the size and design of this outdoor skatepark makes it quite possibly one of the best in the country. It's an essential venue for all skateboarders in the area, who will travel some distance to take advantage of the new council-funded facility which includes a concrete bowl and street courses.
