Cambodian Jolie

Angelina Jolie has become an honorary citizen of Cambodia.

The country's King Norodom Sihamoni has signed a decree granting the Hollywood actress - who has an adopted Cambodian son, Maddox - citizenship.

The monarch bestowed the honour on Angelina, who is a United Nations goodwill ambassador, to thank her for all the environmental work she has done for the country.

The curvy beauty first fell in love with Cambodia when she filmed 'Tomb Raider' there.

She has since bought a home there, because she wants to partly raise Maddox in his native country, so he will understand his culture and background.

The actress, who recently adopted Ethiopian orphan girl Zahara, has also promised to spend $5million on setting up a wildlife sanctuary nearby.

She recently said: "When I went to Cambodia something felt like home to me. I knew someone was there who was meant to be in my family. I don't know any other way to explain it."

Angelina was first offered citizenship in recognition of her conservation work when she met the Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen last year.

She said at the time: "He did mention giving Cambodian citizenship, and I was honoured. It was a real thrill."
