One Tree Split

'One Tree Hill' co-stars Chad Michael Murray and Sophia Bush have split after just five months of marriage.

The couple, who met playing Lucas Scott and Brooke Davis on the hit US show, have decided to go their separate ways after their marriage didn't work out.

Chad, 24, admitted: "I am saddened to announce that Sophia and I are separating. This is a very difficult time for me."

Sophia, 23, added: "This is a difficult and unfortunate situation. I am glad this is being resolved sooner rather than later."

The pair married in April in a romantic Santa Monica ceremony.

Chad, who wore a custom-made Ralph Lauren tuxedo to the ceremony, and Sophia, who donned a Vera Wang gown, then celebrated their nuptials with a reception at the sea front Hotel Casa Del Mar.

Chad proposed to Sophia last May in Australia, where he was filming the movie 'House of Wax'.

The heartthrob actor recently spoke of his love for Sophia, saying: "She's perfect. She keeps me inspired, and she compliments me very well.

"She's a neat freak, and I'm dirty. I can't help it. I wrestle with the dogs every day. We watch football on the weekends and keep our life to ourselves."
