Victoria Principal to fly to space

'Dallas' star Victoria Principal is set to be the first female tourist inspace.

The actress has reportedly splashed out £115,000 to be rocketed 70 miles above Earth when Sir Richard Branson launches commercial space flights in2008.

The stunning actress is among 120 people who've paid for a seat on thetwo-and-a-half hour flight, according to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper.

Victoria isn't the first celebrity to express an interest in space travel.

Earlier this year, it was revealed Hollywood heavyweight Tom Hanks wasbegging space agency NASA to let him walk on the moon.

The 'Apollo 13' actor - a self-confessed space nut - is reportedly desperateto join the organisation's next mission into space in 2018.

The star - who recently wrote and produced new movie 'Magnificent Desolation: Walking on the Moon' - has always been a supporter of NASA andspace travel.

He was said to be hoping the agency would repay him by letting him join thecrew on the moon mission.

He said at the time: "I have just two questions: What will be the mission?And can I go?"
