Willis' private 50th

Bruce Willis has scrapped plans to celebrate his 50th birthday with a big party in Las Vegas.

The 'Hostage' star will reach the milestone age on Saturday (19.03.05), but rather than throw a lavish bash in the US gambling capital Willis is now going to mark the special occasion with just his family and a few close friends.

Guests rumoured to be attending the quiet gathering include the handsome actor's ex-wife Demi Moore and the former couple's three daughters Rumer, 16, Scout Larue, 13, and 11-year-old Tallulah Belle.

However, rather than be worried about getting older, Willis - who was alleged to have enjoyed steamy clinch with teen actress Lindsay Lohan last week - claims he is thrilled to be turning 50 and believes his career is going from strength to strength.

He said: "Fifty is the new 40. I always thought my best work would come in the years 40 to 60, if I was fortunate enough to hang around - and it is hard to stick around."

Meanwhile, Willis has denied there is anything romantic going on between him and Lindsay Lohan.

Last week, a spokesperson for the 'Die Hard' actor attempted to quash rumours the pair had kissed and fondled each other at the New York premiere of 'Hostage', saying their relationship is "purely professional".
