Cabin Fever

I’m one of those people who scare really easily, just 20 mins into Cabin Fever and I had probably jump about 20 times already.

The plot is a nice twist on the standard teenagers in the woods horror yarn. In this case five friends cut loose after their college finals and go on holiday to a remote cabin deep in the mountains, hoping to enjoy a few days of drinking and kicking back. Marci and Jeff want to spend some serious quality time together; Paul’s hoping to make some moves on Karen, who he’s worshipped forever, and Bert just wants to drink beer and shoot squirrels.

But after a terrifying encounter with a strange local vagrant the group become increasingly paranoid they may have been infected with a horrific virus. A virus they won’t even know they’ve caught until it is too late. As the fear of infection increases, the friends begin to turn against each other and when one of them becomes sick, the party is over...

If you like lots of blood and guts and silly teenagers who always go to investigate those noises in the cave or abandoned house then you will love this.

It’s really one of those films that makes you think ‘What the hell is going on!’ throughout the whole film until the very end then you understand the whole thing, other than being really gory it was actually quite funny well it made me giggle. The cast are all good, and I must say Rider Strong is looking mighty fine, didn’t he used to be in boy meets world???

Cabin Fever has been rated as one off the year’s scariest movies, I wouldn’t disagree with that, it’s just more silly scary than ‘oh my god I won’t sleep tonight or ever again’ scary.

I enjoyed it, and for the boys if u want to feel macho round the new girlfriend take her to see Cabin Fever she’ll be gripping hold of your knee the whole way though.
