More movie reviewsNothing can get in the way of the talented, intelligent and handsome young Frank in this true tale of a fraudster and the FBI agent determined to catch him.
An all star cast features in this drama set in the 60’s including Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks, Christopher Walker and Martin Sheen. Remarkable performances from all but particularly given by DiCaprio (Frank Abagnale) and Walker (Frank’s Father).
This tale follows an extraordinary boy not only through his travels of the world but also in his emotional and mental journey.
His family is in trouble with the bank and are forced to move out of their home. After he is made to choose between his parents, Frank runs away to fend for himself.
Not only does he embezzle the government out of millions of dollars in his attempt to do this but he also manages to convince hundreds of people into believing him as he impersonates a professor, an airline pilot, a doctor and a lawyer, all adding to the list of criminal offences he commits on the way.
Though he is miles away from home, he still uses things his father showed him to help him on his way. But with FBI Agent Hanratty (Hanks) following him every step of the way, how much longer can he run?
This is a very clever and griping drama, but is easy and fun to watch, I really recommend it.
