Perhaps it’s no great surprise that the vital things brit teen horror flick The Spirit Trap lacks are Christopher Eccleston, a decent Dr Who script and a few daleks – it would give you as much suspense and more entertainment. Of course the biggest selling point about this average Brit horror movie is the presence of Ms Piper as good-natured student Jenny, but whether even her presence will be enough to save it is distinctly debatable.

Welcome to the supposed horror zone then .. in which 5 students move into an old house and of course the house is inhabited by spirits and evil beings that make things go bump in the night and a strange clock tick.

Sadly Spirit Trap offers nothing new and nothing that inspiring in its pursuit of quality in the fear stakes. The script and story are at best average even if the set itself (it was shot in Bucharest) is pretty impressive.
