Supersize Me

Cast: Morgan Spurlock as himself
Director: Morgan Spurlock
Certificate: 12A,
Cinema Release date: Sept 10

Wonderful documentary this, winner Best director at Sundance 2004, about a man prepared to eat McDonalds food for a month and prove how unhealthy it is. He’s checked over by doctors, and proved to be in good health, then he settles down to eat Big Macs and Filets-au-fish and chicken nuggets for 31 days.

Inbetween the munching, we get facts about how obesity is rife in the western world and particularly in America, about our horrible eating habits, about Mcdonalds encouragement of even bigger meals to make fat an even more serious issue.

Michael Moore would have been proud of Spurlock – he gets to the heart of the matter and then as he gets sick, tries desperately to talk to McDonalds senior staff who won’t answer their phones most of the time. A big embarrassment for them this, don’t miss it – it will educate you and make you think twice about going into a McDonalds or letting others in your family go in there too often.
