The Tuxedo

Jackie Chan's latest release is, to say the least, absolute nonsense. Being the massive Jackie Chan fan that I am, I practically ran to the theatre. I paid my money, overlooking the fact that it was an American release, there would be minimal fighting, and Jennifer Love Hewitt whom I despise. All that being said - I knew I was in for something but I figured hey, it's Jackie! There's one redeeming thing about the movie - it is, in fact actually Jackie in the movie obviously, but nothing could really save this movie.

Based around taxi-turned-personal driver Jimmie Tong (Chan), the movie is full of nonsensical propositions. Now this is sort of typical of any Chan film since you're really only there for the stunts anyway - but there were very few stunts in this film! Thus making the reeking plot stand out even more.

If I hated Jennifer Love Hewitt before, I *REALLY* loathe her now. Her acting is positively horrendous and difficult to believe at any given time. The numerous shots of her chest made me want to throw up, and her irritating character had absolutely no depth. She basically ruined the movie.

If you like Jackie Chan as much as me you will listen up when I say DO NOT go and see this film. Wait until it comes out on video - get very drunk, and THEN go and rent it. Instead of paying $14 for this movie in the theatre just go rent one of his classic QUALITY films, for example "Who Am I?", for much cheaper and better night.
