‘D-D-Don’t Stop the Beat’ is an intoxicatingly goofy and utterly ridiculous day-glo hurdy gurdy hurly burly of bad karaoke singing, disco, DJ-culture narcissism, electro-funk, bubblegum pop, and garage rock, all of which sounds straight from the dustbin of Anglo-American pop culture. It’s junk, but it’s loveable junk. Without a doubt this is one of those love it or hate it albums, and while I’ll stop short of calling it a staggering work of genius, I sure don’t hate it. And, oh yeah, I haven’t even mentioned the "the evil squirrel video."
