Rod's 30 marriage rules

Rod Stewart claims nobody should get married before they're 30.

The twice-married rocker, who celebrated his 60th birthday yesterday (10.01.05), says people go through a lot of change before they hit 30 and only ready to settle down after that age when they are more mature.

Rod - who married second wife Rachel Hunter when she was 21, and is now romancing 33-year-old model Penny Lancaster - told Britain's Q magazine: "Although I'm older than Penny, there's a big difference marrying a 21-year-old and being with a 33-year-old. Women go through this stage between 20 and 30 where they're very volatile.

"I don't think anyone should get married - either sex - before they're 30 because everybody changes and women change the most. Penny's steadfast now. I'm very, very lucky to have such a gorgeous woman by my side . who likes lots of sex."

Meanwhile, Rod refused to celebrate his 60th birthday with a big party.

The veteran star was considering holding a huge bash but decided against it as he didn't want to spend his night running around, making sure his guests were having a good time.

Instead Rod is believed to be taking just close friends and family on a Caribbean cruise.
