"My crush and his friends whisper about me!"

There's this guy I liked back when I was in the fifth grade but then he moved away. I'm in high school now and all of a sudden I see him again, but the problem is I like him again. I tried talking to him once but I completely messed it up. And whenever his friends see me they all turn around to look at me. They're obviously talking about me.
Earlier that year my friend told one of his friends she likes the guy I like to cover up for me, but now they've turned it into something completely different and it just bothers me that they're always talking about us. What could they be talking about? It's not like they like us, you know someone does when they do and you know when someone doesn't like you. How could I talk to him? What could his friends be talking about? Do I tell him how I feel?

Dear Jen,
Why is it a problem that you like this guy again? Crushes are fun and exciting! So first things first, switch your mind frame from viewing this situation as a problem to see it for what it is…FUN!
Secondly, rather thank shying away from liking him and trying to throw him off by having your friend fake a crush on him, embrace your feelings! Run with them. Enjoy them! If you like him, why would you ever want to create a situation where he might go for one of your friends?! Silly Jen! So next time around, while it’s not necessary to walk right up to your crush and proclaim your undying affection for him, don’t overtly conceal your feelings, either.
Thirdly, it is all about confidence! Say it to yourself over and over again. Confidence, confidence, confidence…(you get the idea). Human beings are attracted to other human beings who exude confidence. So whether your crush knows you like him or not, when you’re around him, radiate all the self-confidence and assuredness you possibly can. And in doing so, there's no way he won't notice you!
And as far as those guys whispering and talking about you, it's because they don’t have the confidence and self-esteem I’m talking about. And see how ridiculous it makes them look? Contrary to what you think, it probably IS because they have crushes on you and your friends and are too shy and nervous to talk to you maturely and face-to-face. So know in your head and heart that you are awesome, and that if they want your attention, they’re going to have to muster up their confidence and approach you properly!
Good luck!
