"I'm fed up with my friend's bragging"
I have a problem. I have a friend, who is very nice, but he brags a lot. The thing is, is I don't think he realizes it. He writes music and I was very excited for him when he first started, but now every time he writes something new he sends it to me. I'm happy that he is doing well, but at what point does he cross the line of bragging?
It's gotten to the point where he sends me multiple emails a day. And I find myself just deleting the emails before reading them because I can't stand it. How can I talk to him about this?
I’m not jealous, just frustrated. I want to be a good friend. Does this mean I can’t tell him to stop sending me his musical writings everyday?

Dear Modest Mouse,
Look at it this way, your friend values your opinion and wants your input in his songs. You should view this as a compliment. If you want to be more involved, he is giving you the opportunity to comment on his work and offer your constructive criticism. On the other hand if you don't want to be that involved, and it seems this may be the case as you delete his emails without reading them, just say to him, “dude, I love your songs, but my inbox can't take the strain anymore, I’d rather just wait for the album to come out if it's alright with you.”
Either way, realize that this is probably a pretty big deal for him and he wants to share his successes with you. Continue to be happy for him as you would hope he would do the same for you.
