"I don't want to share"

Dear Auntie Marissa,

I am getting a lot of new x-mas toys, and they are new to me. And I just can't share them a lot. Can you help me in sharing my new toys?

To My Adorable Niece Annie,

I know how exciting brand new toys are – every time I used to get a new toy, I would quickly forget about my old toys because the new ones were so much more fun to play with!

But you know what’s even more exciting than brand new toys? Sharing your toys with friends and family you love. As the saying goes, “it’s always better to give than receive” and while you don’t have to literally give your toys away, I have a feeling that letting other kids (namely your little sister!) play with them too will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside!

And think about it this way, if your sister or one of your friends had a cool new toy you wanted to play with and they wouldn’t let you, wouldn’t it make you sad? I think it might.   Keep that in mind next time you don't want to share.

But the best part about sharing? When you share a toy with someone, maybe they’ll let you borrow a toy of theirs to play with, too!  And then both of you get to play with something fun and new!

And one more thing to remember, the awesome part about sharing is that you’ll always get your toys back in the end!

Good luck, Annie! Love you

Marissa
